Definition :

What's the recount text? Recount Text is a text that retells events or experiences that occurred in the past. The past here doesn't mean the past is so fucking historical. Hehe.. In other words, the incident that was narrtext was already in place before you wrote the text. For example, events that occurred last year, last month, or even yesterday. Well, the incident retold in the rejuventext can be an experience such as vacation, race, or birthday. 

Purpose : 

The purpose is to give an information about past events and entertain people with our experiences in the past.

Structure Recount Text :

Orientation : It gives the readers the background information needed to understand the text, such as who was involved, where it happened, and when it happened.

Events : A series of events, ordered in a chronological sequence.

Re-orientation : A personal comment about the event or what happened in the end.

Language  Features Recount text :

-Simpel Tense

Why get rid of the simple past tense? Since the event is related is a matter of the past, so we should use a valid tense to make out the ancient events simple past tense.

Masih ingat kan, sama pola kalimat Simple Past Tense? Pola kalimat Simple Past Tense ada dua macam, yakni:

1. Subject + Verb 2

Contoh: I ran.

2. Subject + be + Complement

Contoh: It was hard.

-Adverb of time and Adverb of sequence

n addition, when composing recount text, you can also use an adverb or adverb, such as the adverb of time and the adverb of sequences. 

Adverb of Time (Keterangan Waktu) digunakan untuk menunjukkan masa lalu. Contohnya antara lain:

Yesterday

Last week

Last month

An hour ago

A year ago

Sedangkan Adverb of Sequence (Keterangan Urutan) digunakan untuk menunjukkan urutan terjadinya kejadian. Contohnya antara lain:

First

Then

After that

At last

Finally

Types of Recount :

-Personal recount

These usually retell an event that the writer was personally involved in.

-Factual recount

Recording an incident, eg a science experiment, police report.

-Imaginative recount

 Writing an imaginary role and giving details of events, eg. A day in the life of a pirate; How I invented...

Example :

My Holiday In Parangtritis Beach

  

  Last year, I and my family went to Parangtritis Beach. We went to Parangtritis Beach by my car. I was very excited to go there. 
  Our trip to Parangtritis beach spent time for 2 hours on the way. I slept in the bus during the trip. We arrived at 3 pm at Pangandaran Beach.. After that I and my family went to replace our clothes to swim and we walked to the beach together.There were so many activities that we did in the beach, such as swimming, water playing, chasing each other on the seashore, and banana boat riding. We played on the beach about 1 hour. Right at 5 pm, we all had a rest and prepared to go home. We felt family and togetherness atmosphere at that time. That moment is so unforgettable.
  That was my short holiday in Parangtritis beach. But, I was very happy because that was my first experience to go to the beach. 

Writing :

 My Holiday In Ngobaran Beach

 Last month during holiday, i and my parent went to Ngobaran beach. We took a car to go there. We left at 08.00 o'clock in the morning. The trip took about 3 hours and we arrived at around 11.00 AM. 

 As we arrived there, i walked down to the Beach. It was a nice sunny day with a blue sky and a gentle breeze. The waves there were suitable for swimming, but I didn't swim because i couldn't swim and only play with the water on shallow part.

 Before we went home, i looked for some beautiful souvenir at the nearby shop there. Eventually, we went home at about 05.00 pm. It was a memorable experience for me with my family.
